About Me

In 1993 I completed a degree in research in the physiology of Pneumothoraxes and the development of an anti-cancer drug for the treatment of malignant melanoma.  I then went on and completed my medical degree and research in 1996 in South Africa at the University of Stellenbosch.

I completed my medical degree and became a General practitioner in 1997.  I worked as a General practitioner in rural South Africa for one year and a second year in The Boland, the beautiful wine heartland of the Western Cape.

I moved to the UK in 1999 and immediately started my training in Psychiatry in North West London before I moved to Kent in 2004.  I became a Consultant Psychiatrist in 2007 where I worked my way up to become the East Kent Lead consultant in 2011 and then Assistant Medical Director in Kent and Medway Mental Health Trust in 2012.

Since 2019 I have concentrated on building up my own private practice and currently hold clinics at my office in Kings Hill, West Malling. I also work with The Priory hospitals in Hayes Grove and Ticehurst.

I have developed a specialist interest in various aspects of psychiatry, including but not limited to:

  • The management of self-harm behaviour and individuals with personality difficulties

  • Depression, including complex depressive presentation and prescribing

  • Eating disorders, including Anorexia Nervosa

  • Anxiety disorders, including PTSD and General anxiety disorders

  • Drug and Alcohol addiction

  • OCD

  • ADHD and ASD

I am available for assessments and treatment at my clinic in Kings Hill, West Malling or remotely via Skype.
